As Research Associate at the Innovation Group at the Royal College of Art, I took on a year-long research and concept generation project in collaboration with Philips Design Research in Einhoven and the Design Interactions MA course at the RCA. My approach was to explore the darker side of the internet in the home, focusing mainly on virtual infidelity and online addiction, using these extreme scenarios to illustrate issues resulting of this new dimension in the home. The research was conducted mostly online, through forums and virtual worlds, as well as articles and books. The project resulted in an exhibition showing thought provoking objects and a book, which was published by the RCA. The book was written and illustrated by myself, edited by Jeremy Myerson and designed by Grit Hartung.
